EXPLOSIVES SAFETY SCHEME (ESS)
TIME EXPIRED PYROTECHNIC (TEP)
The issue of Time Expired Pyrotechnic (TEP) disposal has been a source of frustration for both commercial and recreational boaters since the carriage and storage regulations changed and the MoD EOD Teams routine collection service from HM Coastguard and Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was withdrawn.
At present there is no nationwide consolidated solution for these items and although some police stations will accept limited numbers, the vast majority will not. MCA sites with approved stores are either a long drive away for most or operate a limited booking process for drop off.
Ramora UK are proud to have developed a nationwide solution for the compliant disposal of pyrotechnic articles. Under their Explosive Safety Scheme (ESS), Ramora UK offer a cost effective, fixed monthly retainer, for the hire of the required equipment to become a licenced TEP drop off point. Ramora UK owns the patent for both transportation boxes and storage units for use with any time expired marine pyrotechnic. These units have been tested and approved under stringent UN6C testing regimes and many have been in service since 2009 across the UK.
For a small monthly cost, Ramora UK can provide sites with the equipment and knowledge to become a licenced TEP drop off point.
Within the monthly retainer charge sites will receive the following benefits:
Up to 4 free of charge collections per year
Use of Ramora UK's Miscellaneous Pyrotechnic Accounting System (MPAS)
Licencing of all equipment arranged by Ramora UK
Onsite, free of charge, training with guides left for reference
Hire of all storage equipment
Fixed monthly retainer rate (based on a 3 year period)
Specialist teams will arrive at your site within 72 hours, should any iems be deemed unsafe to transport
