Companies who operate in fields where Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) can be discovered have a responsibility under sections 1 and 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to reduce risk to their employees and others. This can be achieved by offering appropriate training, as mentioned in The Crown Estate Guidance Notes - Dealing with munitions in marine sediments.
